Festival Team

Our Team is a bunch of freelancers and varies from year to year but its core remains the same. Our staff members come from different sectors but plenty of people that has been organizing C/U throughout the years are the artists or scholars themselves. We are happy to realize that many colleagues have started their careers with us and that people keep coming back to us in various roles.

Choreographer, dance curator, creator of the international ?Body/Mind? festival; for over 25 years connected with the Warsaw dance scene; for 10 years she was the head of the Association of Independent Dancers, as well as the creator and curator of the dance programme at the National Theatre ?+++ of dance?. She is a former prima ballerina of Polish National Ballet at the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw and Stadttheatre Bern in Switzerland. She graduated from the State Ballet School and the Academy of Music in Warsaw. She carries out independent projects related to the art of dance. For 10 years, she has been the only Polish partner of Aerowaves, as well as the curator of the first international exchange projects between Polish dance artists and foreign ones, such as ?Jagniatków. Move the Mount? with the Goethe Institute, ?co ? OPERATION? with the Swiss Cultural Foundation, ?FOLK? a ja się (nie) zgadzam!? with Iceland as part of the so-called Norwegian grants. She creates the original programme of the international Festival Ciało/Umysł and numerous projects promoting Polish dance. In 2003, she received an award from the Minister of Culture for promoting the art of dance. Since 2008, she has been a Polish expert and partner of the European networks: apap (advancing performing arts project) and Open Latitude, and as such, she co-creates the Polish and European dance scene. She is a member of the prestigious Chapter of the ?Pearls of Dance? competition, which from 2019 will award prizes to artists of the art of dance.

Since 2009, she has been associated with the Ciało/Umysł Foundation, managing complex projects, financial and administrative coordination, obtaining and accounting for city, ministerial, European and Norwegian grants.

Graduate of Tourism and Hotel Management in Warsaw. She has several years of experience in managing, running and organising offices at various levels, which she gained while working for the Polish-American company Computron specialising in the implementation of financial and accounting systems for corporations (Polish State Railways, CitiBank Handlowy, SoftBank).

Vice President of C/U since the Foundation?s beginning (2008), previously a spectator and reviewer of the Festival. At C/U 2022 she is continuing what she had started during Pandemic, i.e. trying her best from communication and promotion strategy to daily chores when something is on fire. A theatrologist by education. More than two decades as a copywriter in major international advertising agencies (McCann, Grey, Publicis, Dentsu), even longer here and there as a dubbing writer and translator.

Theatrologist, dance critic. Graduate of the Department of Theatre Knowledge at the A. Zelwerowicz State Higher School of Theater Arts (PWST) and postgraduate studies in Dance Theory at the Department of Music Education at the F. Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. Former literary manager of Lalka Theater (2016-2022). For many years, she has been editor of the monthly “Theater” magazine, as well as editor-in-chief of the quarterly “Le Théâtre en Pologne/Theatre in Poland”. Lecturer at the UMFC (2008-2021), assistant professor at the A. Zelwerowicz Theater Academy (2010-2019). Author of the book “Pina Bausch Dance Theater. Dreams and Reality” (Trio, 2009), editor of the album “Adam Kilian. Fascinations” (Lalka Theater, 2015), co-editor of the publication “Lalka Theater 1945-2015. Samarkand-Krakow-Warsaw” (Lalka Theater, 2017). Co-worker of teatralny.pl web portal.

Cultural promotion specialist. She has been working with C/U for over a decade. This year she is focusing on working with the media, but also supports the festival in other fields of promotion, such as coordination of print and video productions.

Creative and communication specialist. Theatrologist, graduate of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, coordinator of the promotional campaign for the 4th Warsaw Week of Culture Without Barriers, the Culture Without Barriers Festival (2019-2022) and the educational project Warsaw Academy of Accessibility. She specialises in designing communication strategies and digital campaigns for cultural institutions and events. She has worked with the Warszawa Centralna festival, the Krakow Theatre Reminiscences, the Szajna Multimedia Festival in Rzeszów, the Koło Theatre Studio Association, the Studio Theatre in Warsaw and the Copernicus Science Centre.

A visual artist and performer, deaf person. Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Participant of the PhD School at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. He used to collaborate with Zacheta ? National Gallery of Art and Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw as well as Arsenal Gallery in Bialystok. He will be a special guest of the Festival and his signed invitation for the Festival will be an integral part of the Festival trailers.

He?s been working with C/U for a loooong time. He?ll hook up a cable here, crack a joke there to defuse a situation, and seriously speaking he ensures that the Festival can be seen and heard well, the special effects work, and the props don?t get lost before the performances.

With C/U since childhood. In 2022 she joined the Board of the Foundation.

Theatrologist, producer, project manager. Graduate of the A. Zelwerowicz Theater Academy in Warsaw and the Warsaw School of Economics. Since the beginning of her professional career, she has been associated with culture and theater. She has worked with the Wawerski Cultural Center, the Studio Theater, the Contemporary Theater in Warsaw and the Lalka Theater. Currently she is coordinating projects for local communities.

Graphic designer, graphic applied art designer and illustrator. He also practices painting. He graduated from the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2002). In the years 2008?2010, co-publisher and designer of the quarterly “Czarodziejska Kura”, awarded the Silver Award for design at the European Design Awards and the “Gwarancje Kultury” Award (2009). For the company he founded, Ringo prepares paper toys for children, including: “Paper Town”, “Animals”. He is the author of illustrations and graphic design of books titled: “Architekturki. Post-war buildings in Warsaw” (2015), honored, among others, Gold Award for book illustration in the European Design Awards competition (2016) and “I see everything as art? (2018), “Earthlings” (2023).

In previous years, the visual identity for C/U was created by: until 2019, Lech Rowinski beton, who is also the author of the C/U logo; and in 2020-2021, Martyna Wędzicka-Obuchowicz wedzicka.com and in 2022 Kasia Łubińska @kuna.works

They specialise in reportages of artistic events, music videos, art films, film productions of dance and theatre performances, livestreaming and commercials. Go HERE for more.
