A Portuguese artistic duet specializing in socially engaged projects.
Ana Borralho (born 1972) and João Galante (born 1968). They studied visual arts at ArCo (Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual) in Lisbon and collaborated with the theatre group Olho. Since 2002 they have been working together on projects combining elements of performance, dance, installation, photography, sound and video. They create performance ‘formats’ which they recreate locally around the world. They collaborate with local communities and amateurs. They address issues: body/mind, emotions/feelings, self/others, private/public, social/political. Co-founders of the casaBranca association. Creators of The live! Art Festival Verão Azul (Lagos, Portugal). They live and work in Lisbon and Lagos. Their work has been shown at festivals throughout Europe, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Brazil, Iceland, Canada.
